Hey! has anyone put the short bimini they sell on the HOW site on their boat? Does it help? Can u really use it under sail? And how hard to attach to the rails?

Long bimini on H260...

I installed the longer one on an H260. Can use it undersail, but had to move the MainSheet attachment on the boom forward about 8 inches to clear. The shade makes a big difference on a hot day. It is easy to attach to the rails with the hardware they provide. The hardest part is that they only provide pockets in the cloth and you have to slide the rails through. Wish there was a ziper or velcro for easy install and removal. I ordered the top with white Sunbrella, to keep it cooler, and a dark cover to match the sail cover. They will accomodate you. Fair winds, Tom

Convert a long to a short?

I'm planning on converting a long deck-mounted bimini to the stern rail seat mounted bimini with a hacksaw and a bunch of fittings in about 2 weeks. Anybody have any wisdom to share about that? I'm doing it because my butt is too big to share the stern rail seat with the bimini when it is down and resting on it.

Leave the crutch on and stand it against that .It’s up in the air when folded. I also have long with sheet moved forward.
