Bimini for a Legend 37

I was able to pick up a bimini to use on my 88 Legend 37. The size is 9' wide by 6' long. Not having the mast up makes it difficult to determine the placement of the bimini.Having seen a picture of a "fly" for the 37 that has the backstays going through the top of the fly. Not having seen any pictures of a bimini on the 37 I don't know if the backstays should also go through to top of the bimini or should the rear bow of the bimini should rest against the backstay.My questions are: If the backstays should go through the top of the bimini, how was the bimini installed and modified to be able to accomplish this. Also do you leave the bimini up all the time? If not, how do you store the closed bimini? Do you have a specially made bimini cover?

Bimini for Legend

I have an 87 37.5. The backstays go thru the top of the bimini via properly cut holes and zippers. The bimini is stored simply by folding the two halves together, both resting against the backstays. I have never found a cover necessary. It sort of rolls up and shock cords keep it in place.
