I bought a 1981 catalina 22 that needs restoration and I am in that process. I would like to find a replacement for the cover that has windows and is vinyl. I feel it is too damaged and stained to restore. thanks for any help or suggestions. Sorry should have mentioned that it would be like a bimini not a complete boat cover.

Kinda confused, you want a bimini, not a cover, with windows? Windows in the bimini so you can see the sail trim I'm assuming???
Sailrite.com has all the resources and even videos on how to do it your yourself. Lots cheaper if your first mate has a sewing machine. The standard sewing machine can do this type of work no problem. The first and most important thing is can you stand in the forward cockpit and not have the boom hit you in the head. Putting on a bimini that you have to stoop under all the time will get to be areal PITA. Head room clearance will have to go forward of the helm proper to the forward end of where you want the bimini to end.
Also, do you want a dodger (goes over the companion way)?
