Bimini for 25 foot

Is it possible to add a Bimini to the Hunter 25 foot model? I have had my sailboat for a year now and would like to add this feature. It gets kinda hot out on the Chesapeake Bay without any shade except a hat! Cheers Peter

I have 2...

My 1978 Hunter 25 has 2 bimini tops- One over the cockpit, and one over the companionway hatch. The mainsheet travels between the two, so I can sail with both biminis up if I wish- It just makes it a little harder to get to the foredeck when you have to squeeze between them. The cockpit bimini is attached just aft of the winches, and forward of the jib sheet cleats (yes, it gets in the way when you want to cleat off the jib, but this hasn't been too big of a problem). The tie-down straps are attached to the toe rail. The companionway bimini is just large enough to cover the companionway, and attaches to the hand rails forward, and a pair of small fairleads aft. H25 Bimini photos

Peter, I looked through my archive of photos and discovered that I really don't have any good pictures showing the 2-bimini setup. I plan to put the boat back together this weekend (I stripped the deck canvas and hardware for Hurricane Michelle), so I'll take a few pictures as I go- and I'll post them in the photo forum here, in case anyone else would like to try this idea....Just out of curiosity, what year is your H25? Mine is a '78; the cabin roof shape changed significantly as time went on. My solution may or may not actually work on your boat...--Jon BastienH25 'Adagio'
