Bimini Conflict on 26 or 260 Wheel Boat

How does the boom traveler not impacted when the Bimini is fully retracted. The placement in the Cockpit Floor appears to not clear the Bimini. Does the Bimini need to have a travel path opening in the Canvas for this to work?

Can you please post photos? Is this for a Catalina 26 or 260? Are you concerned about bimini interference and how to avoid it? If so, you can have a reinforced slit for your control line(s). Below is a photo of a Catalina 26 that looks like it clears the rigging.

Hunter 260 not a Catalina 250. I've read about the need to cut out a chase way for the boom traveler due to its bolt down position on the Cockpit Deck in front of the Wheel Pedestal. Guess it doesn't become "Rocket Science" to revise the Bimini. Wonder if describing the boat type with Bimini Suppliers will accomplish this addition to the canvas when ordering the Bimini.

it attaches forward of mid-boom and the angle is such that it gets under the bimi.

That is your best approach as they will customize it to avoid any interference.

Depends on which size Bimini you get. I believe when we got ours we had an option for a 4’ or a 6’ Bimini. For the 6’ Bimini you either move the main sheet bail forward on the boom or add an additional bail to the boom. We added an additional bail to the boom which we purchased from the sailboat owners store on this site.

I don't know the dimensions of the my bimini, it was installed by the PO. But with the correct size you can definitely sail with it up. I stand up under it, and there is no interference with the rigging. Here's a couple pictures of me sailing under it.
