We are resewing our aft bimini. PO had front edge attached with lift the dot fasteners. I don't really like them because they are hard to attach and catch loose traveler lines when the bimini is stowed. Newer Hunters use a luft track that appears to be stainless steel. An aluminium track and plastic track are available through canvas suppliers. Plastic will dregrade and doesn't look as nice (but doesn't get permenantly bent). Aluminium would look better but is a dissimilar metal that would cause rust. I don't even know if a stainless steel is available as a replacement. So, what would you or have you done?

strips to attached the bimini to the arch on our boat. Seems to work quite well and that was two seasons ago. All you need is a sewing machine. We spaced them about a foot apart along the arch side of the bimini. Terry

Guess I will have to put "some of that stuff" to insulate the dissimilar metals (which I assume Hunter does). So I bought a strip of aluminum track from an RV store and took the bimini to the Canvas Shop. They think they will be able to put on a plastic boltrope/lufftape, replace the zippers, add zippers to the bow sleeves, and make a boot by Tuesday! I'm sure that if this was May it would be two weeks from Tuesday! We will see how this all turns out!

Good idea John
John, good idea and I may end up there but for now I will try the groove. The problem with the lacing is that it would let water funnel through and this would be just about directly over the radio. Of course if you were trying to collect rainwater to drink it would be handy!
