Bill - What's up with Shipping?

For the past 3 weeks, I have had three marine stores tying to to get one of the AB units for me, West, BoatUS and Defender - with no luck! All three are telling me that they are waiting on AB's shipments. Kinda hard to sell stuff if no one has it, isn't it?Granted, half my frustration is with these stores who report it's in stock, then next week they can't find it, then the next week some manager finally tells me they are waiting on you.But I finally decided to buy a fridge for my boat and now can't get the darn thing. What's up with that?

Shipping

There is always a two week lead time on shipments this time of year.If the retailers do not place stocking orders for the product that is in their catalogs, then everyone suffers. You had said in your email to us that Defender has one on order to drop ship to you. This is not so. There is no order from Defender. We have just shipped three units to West Marine. They should be in the warehouse at this time.

Bill Thomas was very quick to answer both my post and email. Now if I can just get the darn thing.My advice to anyone buying from Defender is watch out. They have been telling me for 2 weeks the unit was "drop shipped", and this was after tellimg me they had it in stock and it would "ship that day". Plus, on most occastions I've waited for over 1 hour on hold to speak to a human. But's it's their 800 number ($$$) so I almost enjoy spending their money.Thanks again to Bill Thomas of AB.
