In the process of fixing a leak at the stuffing box shaft hose section, I found the two weep holes were blocked or not drilled deep enough. The water would pile up and then spill over the dam and under the engine. I did manage to to get some flow by drilling cautously as I was not sure how far or at what angle I should drill. I checked the small sump just forward of the engine and found there was no exit (weep hole)to the next forward sump. There was a plastic hose coming in at the top which I assume is from the ice box. It seems to me that each sump should have a weep hole going to the next sump. My main questions are:What angle and what depth should I further drill the weep holes near the shaft? Should there be a weep hole between each sump ?How does water draining fron the shaft area get to the main sump? Thanks, Marty
