Bilge weep holes

Hello, I would like to know if the H31 has weep holes allowing the water trapped between hull and liner to drain into the bilge. Repairs were done to my bilge by previous owners and I think they blocked the weep holes. I would like a description or pictures if possible, so that I can drill in the right locations. Any advice would be appreciated, Guy

My weep holes

I've got a couple of 1/2" grey colored flexable PVC pipes leading to the bilge of my 1983 H31. One brings the shower run-off from the head's floor drain to the bilge, there's another leading from that space under the V-berth to the bilge. I haven't found any weep holes leading into or out of the bilge itself. In the cover below the stairs (where the keel bolts are located) there's another PVC pipe draining into there, which I think is from the icebox, but I'm not sure. Water often remains stagnet there even when the bilge is empty, so I often wonder if there's a certain threshold of water in the liner somewhere before it overflows into the bilge.

Weep holes, water between liner and hull

When my 1987 H31 was new, I experienced problems with water getting trapped in the liner, then sloshing out around the galley stove and nav station. Guests thought the boat was sinking! Someone suggested that I tap lightly in the bilge to locate a hollow spot (mine is forward and about 3" down), then drill thru the liner. With much trepedation I drilled a 1/4" hole and water came pouring out. I've never since had a problem with water trapped under the liner. By the way, most of my water came from the stuffing box; the engine pan would overflow and run under the liner. Good luck

Weep holes

Mine are on the starboard side a couple of inches down and they need to be opened upon occasion from blockage. I just take a drill bit and move it around in the hole by hand and clear any blockage that I encounter. Good luck.
