Hello all I have a Rule 2000 bilge pump connected to a Rule 35 float switch. Problem is that the switch does not turn on until the water is higher than I would like it. Is there any adjustments that can be made, or are there any better switches that people use? I have a Pearson P36-2 that has a shallow bilge. Hate having that much water in there. When I am sailing it is dry as I amnually drain it, however it is when I am not on the boat and rain water runs down the mast, gets into the bilge, then the heat can make a mess in that nice, dark, wet bilge. Thanks as always Greg

Add floatsom

You can change the level at which the switch operates, in your case a lower level, by attaching a piece wood, cork, styrofoam or anything that will float to the bottom of the switch arm. Make the additon the thickness that maintains the switch activation level where you want it. Water rises, floatsom rises, switch activates. Bob D

Float Switch

Adjust the switch mounting so it is tilted down, and it will activate sooner.
