Happy New Year everyone! I will be replacing my bige pump this spring. Not sure which pump would be the best. I was leaning towards the Rule automatic line. As always, I would appreciate any suggestions and tips. Thanks!

You got it, price, performance and availability in one.

Don't worry to much about GPH capacity as they are only designed to remove bilge collected water and not a moderate to serious leak. They do keep water accumulation from damaging the sole. Get one with enough power to lift the water enough "heads" to propel it out. For redundancy I would consider a dual pump installation in case the primary fails. I hardwire ours directly to the batteries to be able to shut the battery switch without affecting the pumps. A fused (+) lead is necessesary as well as a reliable power source. For safety at sea a manual pump preferably located at the cockpit should be installed. A quick inspection of the bilge is recommended before going out.
