I recently boat a Hunter 25.5 and when I took up the floor over the bilge I saw another layer of fiberglass flooring underneath with the keel bolts almost completely covered by the secondary fiberglass. I could not find a bilge pump; however there was a hose about 6 inches in length leading out from the subflooring. I read the the previous posting on the bilge location for my boat but it was not entirely clear to me. I bought the boat at auction so I have very little knowledge of how it was cared for by the previous owner. I am not familiar with this Hunter model as the boat I grew up sailing on was a 1977 Hunter and the bilge was easily accessible. Any information or advice would be great. Dana

Bilge

The hose that you are refering to is the drain from the ice box. Yes this area is the bilge, my 25.5 also does not have a bilge pump. I've thought about installing one many times but have not started this project as of yet. This is probably because unless I have Ice in my Ice Box my bilge stays dry. Of course this was not always the case, I had to replace my port lights to get rid of my rain water leaks.

Hello to Laketravisgal

I have a Hunter 25.5 on Sandy Creek on Lake Travis. I have replaced the floor with marine grade plywood and stained and urethaned it. I am installing a stereo tonight. Next project is replacing the bulkhead wall. I have also replaced the main and genoa halyards, installed a swim ladder, replaced the tiller, and added a bimini. My work number is 244-4079, if you want to share info on the Hunters. Iam going out tonight to work on it.
