Bilge Pump

I have a 1981 Tanzer 26. I want to install a bilge pump. The space below the floor boards over the bilge (top of keel) is very small (shallow). Any advice on how to install bilge pump and brand?

presuming ”shallow” means not enough room for a small centrifugal pump, run a hose to a diaphragm pump you can located elsewhere

Thanks. I am hoping to have a pump/system that includes a sensor to turn on and off while I am not onboard. I have about 2 inches below the floor boards over the bilge/keel cavity. Ideas?

Look at the Whale IC pumps. Some are very low profile or are remote.

If that doesn’t work, plan b would be a remote diaphragm pump tied to a float switch in the shallow bilge.
