26S doesn't accomodate bilge pump very well
It seems that the deepest water accumulates midship in the port and starboard settees. I have tupperware installed under each settee to keep my gear dry in there . I left some bare bilge exposed in each settee for the purpose of bailing - first with a plastic cup, and then with a rag. I don't bail very often but sometimes I have to. This is usually when I don't close the ballast tank "fill" fast enough. I do have a bilge pump in the lazarette under the false floor I installed. The lazarette sometimes get rain water from around the hatch and where the fuel line and outboard battery cable come through. This pump has worked out well because once I installed the false floor I no longer have access to bail that water.
