Hunter 25.5 PORT ARTHUR
I just bought a 1985 25.5 and the bilge pump hose is corroded off in the well.
It's plastic with a spring like a radiator hose. Has anyone ever changed one of these hoses? I can't find where it exits the boat!

Apparently a bilge pump was not at factory opinion on the 25.5 ... at least as far as I can tell. With that on mind, the discharge should be as high as possible, well above the waterline.
But I have talked with owners who traced the bilge pump discharge back to the galley sink drain, which is thru a seacock below the waterline. This is a VERY bad idea because the seacock must be left open for the bilge pump to operate, even when the boat is unattended. And with the seacock open ANY problem with the sink drain or bilge pump discharge can sink the boat.
The discharge on my boat is high on the port side, but not high enough. Any heel past 20 degrees (or so) on starboard tack and water siphons into the bilge. And looks like this installation was done by a professional.
There are already a couple of threads on this topic (bilge pumps on Hunter 25.5s). You should be able to find them with the search function. Good Luck,
E. Godsey
