Bilge Hose Transition

I need to replace the main bilge hose on my 1984 Hunter 34. I'm considering the Series 141 Multiflex hose however I'm not sure of how to best make the connections to the through-hull and check valve. Each of these items have smooth stems however the hose has reinforced ridges. I'm concerned that simplying using a clamp won't be sufficient.

You might consider using a smooth hose rather than the corrugated type. It provides a lower resistance to flow allowing the pump to discharge at a greater rate close to it's design spec, obviates the connection problem you mention and will arguably last longer as well as, over time, the corrugations tend to crack.

My concern for the smooth hose is the ability to make some of the turns the original hose currently makes and perhaps the loop before the thru-hull attachment. Do you have any suggestions on types of smooth hose which is this flexible?
