Bilge drain plug

I was getting my boat ready for launch and felt it would be nice
to have a bilge drain plug to get rid of the water that accumulated
over the Winter. I looked around in the boat yard and I couldn't
find one sailboat with a bilge drain plug. Almost all power boats are
built with a bilge drain plug. Any reason why sailboats don't have
them?

Since sailboats with fixed keel are not removed from water as often as motor boats they do not have a drain plug - it would be one more way that water may get into the boat. I use a syringe to remove the last drop of water from the bilge.
