Larger sail
Thomas The main on the MKll was designed to compete in the one design class of 22s along with the older boats.. My MKll is raced on a regular basis with a PHRF rating of 255.. 15 seconds per mile off the 270 of stock.. you have to watch what you do to the boat as not to take to much of a hit on the rating... What I did was to change to kevlar sails and add a larger roach to the sail.. the increse was dramatic over stock but no hit to the rating.. with a larger sail, from a racing standpoint, the light weight of the boat would be overpowered in winds above 15 to 18 knots...
