Bigger jib

Looking at a lower cut clew jib with a bit of overlap, running on the standard track and car of my 07 Hunter 33. Anyone had any joy with this.

Do you have an outside track on the deck or simply the ones on the cabin top? I was thinking as you that I needed bigger fore sail for light wind. I even had Doyle design a 130 genoa for me. At a Hunter Rendez vous I spoke with a tech rep from Hunter. He said not to go with bigger fore sail but try using the outside tracks. I did that and am satisfied that I do not need a bigger fore sail now.

asymetrical

Might want to think about an asymetrical with a sock. Easy to single hand, great for down wind.

Here’s an easy-to-make bowsprit, seats in the anchor locker.
This will throw the spin ahead of the main, less blanketing.
Tack line and 2 sheets permanently deployed for quick setup.
