Big repair Hunter 260

Help! Had a major mishap resulting in a cracked hull about three feet from the bow on the very bottom. Yard said they need to get at the damage from the top in order to properly re-glass the damage. I removed the water tank and the board it sat on. To get to the damage we have to cut a hole in the top of the ballast tank. I assume the hole can be reglassed. Has anyone had to do this. I really have no other choice but to cut the hole.

Yes, it does. Here's a profile of the H26, which should have the same ballast tank as the H260, I believe.

Yes the hulls and tank lid placements are identical. I received a private message but for a better response i have directed him to one of three fellows who actually built the Hunter boats who are professionals for a better response or best response to be blunt. I would as a dealer would have approached them. I may know but better to send folks who can give better instructions. There might be a cost if too long but well worth it.

Thanks to for the response guys. The staff at the yard said it may be repairable from the bottom up now. We’ll see. I’ll keep you all posted
