Better Alarm Clock

On my recent single-hand trip from Puerto Vallarta to San Diego,
which involved a number of nights offshore, I decided I need a better
means of regulating the length of naps. I did have the radar
detector and it worked well, but is of no use if the other fellow
doesn't have his radar working and many boats didn't, so I still
needed to pop up and have a look every half hour or so. My alarm
wrist watch wasn't the answer, too difficult to reset for the next
half hour interval and not loud enough to penetrate the engine noise
when motoring. I've heard there is/was a clock-timer sort of device
built exactly for this purpose. Supposedly it can be set for
whatever interval of time, wound up and will thereafter sound its
alarm bell at that interval until it's button is pushed. . .whereupon
it will be quiet until the interval passes again. Does anybody know
what it is called or who makes it or. . .have any better ideas?

Hya Ken, why not use an ordinary kitchen timer (just take two to be
safe) with a winding mechanic. Just give it a twist every time you had
the pop out of the hatch and look. Sound like pretty KISS to me.
