Greetings one and all,
I rejoice to tell you that after a 5 week hiatus I'm back on the
water and Blue Fin is sporting a brand new BZ482 Beta. Mega thanks
to Steve Birch for his tireless suport. I also found Stanley
Feigenbaum from Beta US in North Carolina to be willing and able to
help with the process. (And Stanley was persuaded by Steve to give
me an even better deal than I could have gotten otherwise.)
We have a new engine, propshaft and prop, wet exhaust system,
control and linkage and an extremely elevated level of confidence to
set out whereever we wish to go. Just today, as I ran it for the
fist time, I found the ease of hanling to be very comforting. I can
actually stop and back up--if not on a dime at least on a quarter.
It's earily quiet with the engine running, and without the trail of
exhaust smoke to follow I'm not sure how I'll find my way home.
In the future I plan to conspire with Steve and the others to add my
experience to the growing DIY documentation on this conversion.
