beta alternator upgrade

Has anyone replaced their 40 amp beta alternator? I am rewiring our Vega and thought
that this would be the time to install a heftier alternator. The price I got from Beta Marine
here in the states was a bit high though, so i thought that I'd try to find an automotive or
rebuilt alternator that would fit in place. I believe that the original alternator is a Denso
model, but I'm not sure. If anyone knows the manufacturer and part number for the
original, that would be really helpful.

Hi Hans

The Beta upgrade alternator means that you have to alter the Vega engine
cover in the main cabin so wouldn't do it personally. Need to check on
size for anything you will be changing.
