Beta says you need a filter/water separator on fuel inlet but they don't say what micron filter to use. I'm thinking 30 micron as the Beta filter at the engine will take care of the rest and I think the main reason to have it is probably to separate water. Anybody know what Beta recommends? Thanks Gordon

West Marine has a bit on in line filters on line. It depends on what size the Beta filter is. If it's a 2 micron filter then a 10 micron filter before it. If its a 10 micron filter then a 30 micron filter before it. apparently the 30 micron is enough to
get the water out but a smaller filter will block more miscellaneous crud. WaltP.S. Sorry, couldn't resist, in line on line.

Walt and others,
Good info.
Contacted Beta and they recommend either 10 or 30 micron because
the Beta filter is ABOUT 5 micron. I also read somewhere else that
the Beta is 15 micron ABSOLUTE which would go along with the 5
micron statement if 5 is NOMINAL.
So I'm going to go with 30 to get the big chunks and the water and
let the other do its job with the little stuff.

BTW This is on an Ocean Voyager 26 I'm doing some work on.
