There seems to be no end to the "wax, polish, cleaner" controversy on this and other boating sites. Can you help de-mystify this issue? We are all looking for the majic bullet that will give us the protection and the glossy surface that we saw when our boats were new. In your opinion, what is the most labor and cost efficient solution to restoring and maintaining gelcoat? Thanks!

faded gelcoat

jm Like the karati kid,get some of the 3M stuff and wax on, wax off. My day sailer is 40 years old, and when I got it 9 years ago, it was really faded. The stuff for faded gelcoat, made by 3M worked pretty good. Good luck

Agree with the Saint, and add

Use an electric polisher!!!! Also, which ever cleaner or restorer you use from 3M, always make the final application the Liquid Protective Wax. In combination with a polisher, your boat will look like new!!
