Best way to clean rubber bumpers?

What recommendations does anyone have to clean the gray rubber bumper material used over the deck/hull interface on late model hunters.

Brushing thinner

It's nasty stuff so use gloves (& you'll have to change them cuz the thinner eats thru them) but it cleans the rubrail up in a snap (lifelines too). I'm sure there are more ecological & safer suggestions, so I curious.LaDonna

Try West Marine Non-skid cleaner.

Bob:Try the WM non-skid cleaner. I was very suprised to find out how well it worked. Just splash it on and use a brush to scrub it in. Let it sit for several minutes. Re-scrub the surface and rinse. Some areas where the birds have had their way with the deck needs a little more attention.

Absolutely the easiest cleaner I have ever used on the rub rail. Spray on and wipe off with clean rag. Then wipe off with damp cloth. I have tried most everything else. I am a true beliver in Spray Away.Festina TardeHunter 340 # 107

Rub Rail Cleaning

I work for the company that probably made the rub rail that went on your boat. As a Hunter 37 owner I use our technical people for questions like this.First of all the rub rail is not rubber it is make of Flexable PVC and extruded.I went to our technical people as aked the question. Their response was that a good detergent and elbo grease should do the job. If the dirt is rubbed into the plastic, it probably would be inbedded into the rub rail.I am going to try an experiment at home and see if once you sand down a portion of the rub rail can the original luster be achieved by adding heat from a heat gun. Don't know if it will work but will try and I will report back.

PVC patio furnature cleaner

We use PVC patio furnature cleaner on the rub rail and it sparakles...We get it at the local pool supply house..
