Doing some research on great coastal sailing towns in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. What are the top 5 must-visit towns in this region tied to sailing (an Annapolis/Newport of the South if you will).

Oriental, NC

Any place where you can get shrimp & grits and sweet tea.

Charleston SC would be in that top five

Savannah, Georgia is right up there with Charleston. Long history of sea faring and a cool town to walk around in.

+1 for Oriental, New Bern is nice, Washington NC a great one, Beaufort (both of them) and Charleston

Pamlico Sound is great to just gunkhole around, just be aware of the weather.
