Hello, What roller furler would be recommended for a 33 foot Hunter?

I don't know if it's best...

..but I am talking with my sail loft about converting my Hunter 27 to roller furling and the sailmaker (with almost 20 years experiance) told me he would go with Harken harware. He said he can sell me any kind I want, but Harken was his choice for the money. He said the CDI occasionally causes problems in his experience but I don't remember exactly what problems he was alluding to. Others may disagree but I will follow his advice when I'm ready to change over.

#2 vote for Harken

Have had Harken on my "27 since 1989, has gone thru 3 Hurricanes[sail off] including Andrew in Homestead. Not the first problem. Love it.

Go Harken

I just installed a new Harken roller furler and it works great on my HC33, 1976. I installed it myself with the help of a friend who likes to go up the mast more than I do.

roller furler

We've had a Harken installed on our H33 since 1982. No complaints. When the track was broken during transport, Harken support was suberb, and helped me refit. Good midwestern service. I furl and unfurl single handed while steering with my feet.

Go with ProFurl

Although my 37-Cutter came with that dreadful old CDI, I had installed a ProFurl on my previous boat, a Grampian 30. I had a Hood furler on the boat before that. I have sailed on other peoples' boats with Harken furlers. I certainly agree with the observation about Harken tech support but the ProFurl is head and shoulders above all others I have ever had any dealings with.
