Best place to list for sale

Need to move up or move down. My Bayfield 25 is seriously for sale,had lots of calls a few looky Lou's but nothing serious.i need a bigger boat for my wife and myself or a smaller day sailer I can launch myself. What are the best places to list a small cruiser like. Mine. Ps she has had an almost total refit in the last year

Have you tried Sailing Texas, Crags List, E-bay classifieds....?
There is a lot different and free venues.
That said, there are allot of sailboats for sale. Allot of cheap (I don't want to loose the house) type deals.
Have you thought about a lease to own type of deal. Owner finance. You lease it to the new guy monthly. If there is a default you take the boat back. On to the next...

Price < or = Value

Sounds like it's not price correctly.. You mentioned you have had many calls and a few that come out to see it. Selling boats can sometimes take many months and even years but what's not to like about it, why are the folks walking away?

I know it's hard to think that others don't see the same value and worth as you in the boat that you have loved cared for as if it were a 2nd wife (maybe loved more then the 1st ). Put that all aside if you truly want or need to sell it and come back to earth with the others. The market just doesn't support the prices as it once did. Even though we may think a boat has fully depreciated, they always seem to find a new low watermark.

Not sure if yours is on a trailer but as another option, crunch the numbers and see how much you might collect if you were to part it out and sell off pieces..

WOW! I didn't know what a "Bayfield 25" looked like, very nice.... So, I get it... "NO parting it out"... The boat has a full keel, yes? looks as if one could take her anywhere but does look as if single handling her could be a challenge.

Right now....worst possible time to be a seller.....best time ever to be a buyer.

Unless your boat is an exceptional example, extremely well equipped, everything new(ish) and almost zero faults.....you're gonna have to price it very competitively. For most folks, this means not selling the boat in this market.

Look at comparable boats....and at Bayfield 25's for sale now. They're in the $6k to $15k range....the $6k to $8k boats will probably sell...the $15k boats will probably sit for years until the price comes down or the market recovers. If you really want to sell your boat quickly, you'll have to price it at a level where a buyer can't get a better boat for that price. If you put a premium price on it because you feel it's "worth it"....then it will most likely sit....and sit....and sit....

There's a C25 I looked at over a year ago when I was shopping....grossly overpriced....and had been for sale for almost 2 years....it's still for sale now...going on 3.5 years....same price. Never changed. Plus, it's been sitting unused for 3.5 years....rotting in the slip. The owner is delusional.

Yes I understand about the pricing I have looked at every Bayfield 25 on the web. My 84 has new paint ,hull, mast and boom, new bottom, repowered in 95 with a 12 horse universal. Crisp almost new 150on a furler. Solid highway ready trailer with good rubber. I priced her way below the expensive ones but double the cheaper ones, with original engine,no trailer, and 1000 miles away.Honestly I tried to let what I thought it was worth enter into the process.

She is a full keel and ready to splash. I am impatient I suppose. I assumed everyone would love her like I did. Just need to get the word out to the right person.
I put some adds on Craig's list in some serious sailing areas referring them back to my local Craig's list add and some busy bodies have to flag it for removal.
She looks so good I may just splash it and sail her another season

Oh yea and the comment about single handing being a hand full. With a roller furling ,all lines run aft ,jiffy reefing and a tiller pilot. It is actually easy. Spent a year on her in the gulf ,,,Texas to the keys,,, sweet sweet
