Hunter Legend 37.5 seward
Brought my hunter up from SanDiago and need to install heat!
I am now in Seattle. Plan on being here for another winter.
Anyone know of a good place to install heater on a 37.5 Legend.
Anyone have a suggestion as what worked for them.
Prefer diesel, where do I put it!

I had a Webasto Thermo 90 hydronic heater installed in my 38 last fall. The unit is quite compact and I'm told is less fussy than some products regarding its physical orientation. The unit is installed in the starboard aft locker space (usually acessed on the swim step), which I am told is where Hunter places the factory installed model. It required a hatch cut in the wall of the aft cabin for installation and service ease. While we don't have a ton of time on it, the system works beautifully. Thanks to a respectful installer it is an elegant installation, including the new aft cabin hatch.

Sure Marine (www.suremarine.com) has been the northwest distributor for Webasto for quite a few number of years. They are located on the canal in Ballard and are excellent people to work with. Although my last installation was with a local marine service in Bellingham, I know that my guy works with Sure Marine as his source.

I would like to suggest that if you go with a diesel furnace such as Webasto, to also installa muffler so that you don't scare your dock neighbors when you start it up in the morning.

I've had a number of boats and at least five of them had Webasto hot air furnaces. You need them here in the northwest--sometimes even in the summer months.

By the way I almost forgot. I had a Hunter 380 and had the midsized Webasto furnace on it. It was located in an aft locker on the starboard side. We had outlets in the aft stateroom, the main cabin and the forward cabin. It would take about twenty minutes to bring the boat up to temperature....less if it wasn't too cold outside. We didn't always use the forward outlet and would close it off.

I hope this helps.
