I HAVE JUST NOW BOUGHT A HUNTER 33 1978. DURING THE SURVEY I WAS TOLD THAT THE 3 BLADE PROP WAS TOO BIG FOR THE BOAT AS IT ALMOST THOUCHED TH BOTTOM.ANY HELP ON SIZE AND PITCH?
If the boat has a Yanmar 2QM-15 engine, as many originally did, the original prop was a 14 by 12 two blade. Check the specs in the Hunter 33 reviews on this site.
Dear Dennis,Our records show a few engine combos for that boat. Could you supply to us the current propeller diameter and its tip clearance and the engine equipped along with its reduction gear? This will allow us to run the specs for you. If you would like you can send it directly to me at kwoody@pyiinc.com Sincerely, Kevin
My 1980 H33 has a 12RH13 3 blade prop, it's been on the boat since I've owned it (10+ years) but was not the original equipment. I believe the original prop was a 12RH14 2 blade.
