My First 285 has a Autohelm ST4000 autopilot and wheel steering. The current location of the control/display unit is not convenient (low on the lazarette, below the helmsman's seat). What is a good location for the control? On the binacle? On the bulkhead near the companionway? Recessed in the coming? What do people prefer?
