Best Furler?

I will be looking to install a furler on WWP19 thinking about a snap furl but looking for recommendations on other brands .
I had a CDI FF4 on my Catalina 25 , it seemed pretty good but the track had a warp in it from incorrect storage by the PO , still worked fine and that may be the case with other furlers.

As far as I know CDI is the only one that use any type of pvc extrusion . The others are aluminum . The aluminum will work much better once the mast is setup . The inherant problem ,as I understand it is the is a propensetiy for the aluminum to kink when stepping the mast .
I've used CDI on both my sailboats. The warp has bothered me to some extent . I found however ,the more time the extruded pvc spends in the sun the less of a kink there is . I take it as a sign I should be sailing more . CDI became as popular as they are by catering to the trailers like we have

Yeah I like the CDI’s , was looking at the Snapfurl as well . Don’t know much about them, they also have the plastic extrusion and advertise “easy installation“, I’m sure only advantage on bigger boats and are similar priced, at least in Canada .

I bought a Schaefer for my last boat and when the current furling goes on my new boatI’ll get another one. It was easy to install and felt bulletproof functioned very well.

Any other input on CDI extrusion parts actually ordered & received? I recently called a Manuf. looking for a CDI extrusion and was told that CDI was sold & that new extrusion parts were not being made. So if I wanted something CDI, it'd be 2nd hand market only or with luck, a NOS part on a vendor's shelf. Anybody actually ordered one lately?

Look at the FF 1 if available. CDI was sold to a sailmaker 2-3 years ago. To find CDI, call the forum store and ask for Al or Mike to see if they know who owns CDI. Reply back to my att or @Crazy Dave Condon and we can go from there
