Hello all,

On our last haul out we stripped to the FG and used EcoClad. We now find that they are out of business. I would like to know what speed minded sailors are using these days. We expect to have to strip to the FG again.

Thanks,
SM

What kind of boat?
In water year round, hauled in the winter, or trailered?
How serious a program?
Expectations on period before a re-application?

38 foot Nordcantieri.

She is in salt / brackish water year round. Near marshy outflow so we have a lot of build up here.

I would like a bottom job to last at least two years.

You ain't gonna be breaking any speed records with that thing, no matter what you use, so I say go with a sprayed-on Pettit Trinidad bottom. It'll be plenty fast and you'll get a good three years out of it, properly maintained.

And by which logical method have you come up with this "alleged fact"? You have never even heard of this boat much less have any idea of how fast she is. Interestingly enough though, I bought her in Alameda though. So maybe you did lose a race to her :)

What was she called when she lived in Alameda?

Nope. Don't know her, pretty sure I never raced against her.

All kidding aside, I think you'd be happy with a sprayed-on Trinidad bottom.
