All, I just upgraded to the new Blackberry 8800, complete with GPS, and have been looking for useful apps and websites to use on the water. Weather Underground works pretty well on the browser, while the Weatherbug app hangs up badly. GPS works great (Google Maps and Telenav), though lacking nautical charts. All suggestions welcome. Thanks. Harry Bethesda, MD

I use Xtides at www.mobilegeographics.com:81 (click on link below) Look up your location and bookmark the result. I don't use this for navigation so much as a heads up on what the tide is doing when I'm on my way to the boat. I also use Accuweather, I bookmark address of the page or the animated gif image that has the radar or IR loop. Finally - I find that it is much better to go to Settings... Screen/keyboard... and edit the left 'convenience key' to fire up the browser rather than whatever it does by default (which I think is voice dialing). That way you are just a couple of quick clicks away from the data you want to see. (disclaimer - I'm not affiliated with Xtides, I am affiliated with BlackBerry.)
