I hope that all is well with you and yours. I found the site through
one of the European Vega sites, possibly the german or
swedish
club links. You can find further info on the term "berserker" at this
site, http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~cherryne/mythology.html
The reference in norse mythology is this: the beserker were a
type of Viking warrior famous for the intensity in battle and also
because they wore no armour, Thus bare chested or ber-serk
(no shirt) The images downloades from the aberserker site are
large enoug that you can manipulate them and get some
interesting results. ( colour correction and applying filters to
create "arty" results) If anyone is interest in modified images (
corrected and enlarged) I would be happy to upload some if
there is no copyright problem. Otherwise, I wish everyone a fair
wind.

Hi Antonio,
Yes, my partner Hartmut and I are well, but the weather is not. It is
raining, clouds make the day looking like an evening and it is cold.
I found the 'Berserk'- pictures too. It was very simple. Steve Birch
(England) made an international Vega One Design Association website: www.albinvega.com
There you can click on a country-flag and get the site of that
country. On the German site the pics of the Berserk are published. Don't click
on the Dutch flag because (it's a shame!) there is no Dutch site, but we
are working on it now.
Your information about the name Berserk was very interesting. Thanks.

I enjoyed the read and found it went very fast. The author, David
Mercy, didn't have quite the glowing admiration for the Vega that we
have, yet the book reaffirms the remarkable toughness of the Vega.

Mercy wasn't a sailor and had no experience at all in small boats. Jarle has replaced the original Berserk with another Vega, "Berserk II" and has embarked on an exploration of the far Northern latitudes in her.

The book was a great read. I laughed my tail off. Laura is seriously considering taking Lealea around Cape Horn.
