Reluctantly I have to announce that Beowulf (V2977) is going to be for sale from October 2014. We bought her in 2010 and sailed her from England to the Med in 2012. She was fitted for blue water cruising by a previous owner before crossing the Atlantic to Europe, and we have made a number of improvements to fit her for Mediterranean cruising. We love her sailing qualities, but we decided this year we wanted a larger boat so we could give visiting friends more privacy, and ourselves more room during the three months we spend cruising. So we have bought a Rival 32. Beowulf's main attractions, apart from her incredible seaworthiness, include: Monitor wind vane, solar panel and controller, 45 litre stainless steel holding tank, s/s swimming ladder, new fully battened loose footed main (2013), roller furling genoa (c. 2009), steps to mast head, new drive shaft and cutlass bearing, engine mountings and alternator (2012), inflatable dinghy, liferaft (new 2014), Simrad tillerpilot, led navigation, anchor and cabin lights, chart plotter (Standard Horizon CP300, new 2010, Western Med charts 2014) with AIS receiver, radar reflector, Navtex receiver, cockpit sunshade, electric and manual bilge pumps, good bow and kedge anchors with generous scope, and a full set of warps and fenders. The engine is a Volvo Penta M2001 in good working order. Beowulf has been laid up ashore every winter since we bought her, and during July and August in the Med, with sails, dinghy etc stowed below. She is completely ready to continue cruising. We will belooking for offers around £10,000, but for a sale before we have to incur winter storage and marketing costs we will do a deal for £8,000. If you would like to know more, email me at tjhfenton at gmail dot com.

Beowulf is lying ashore in Arbatax, Sardinia, and will end the season
in Sardinia, either in Alghero or near Cagliari (both have airports
with cheap flights to the UK and other parts of Europe). We will be
sailing her from August 29 until at least September 9, and until later
in September if anyone wanted to visit. We havent decided yet whether
to lay up ashore or afloat this winter, but will take advice on which
is most likely to suit prospective buyers. Tom
