The aft stanchion on the starboard side of my 23 got bent when the boat went up against the dock. Now the bottom plate is bent up and it makes the post lean over which makes the lifeline loose.I need to remove the stanchion to get it straightened and obviously I need to remove the screws holding it. My question is what is under the deck? I can't get a look or get my hands in there because of the inner liner. I can't believe the screws just bed into the deck itself. There has to be either nuts/washers or a threaded backing plate of some sort. Yes?
