Last weekend I was forced into a low bridge and hit about 6 inches from the top of the mast. The front stay, which was new, parted and the mast now has a bow halfway down from the spreaders, which also took major damage. Has anyone ever had any luck or is it possible to correct this. The mast is not twisted. No other apparent damage. This is a 1974 Catalina 22. Anyone out the have a mast?...I'm devastated...I've worked like a dog on this boat and refuse to give up on her. She still looks like the day she was made. I now understand why some sailors simply DISPISE power boaters.
