bent chainplate in cabin

Please remember rule #5...be kind to newbies (basically).
We have noticed in the old/new to us C36 that the port chainplate in the cabin appears to have a slight downward bend to it, like a frown. Sorry, don't really have all the jargon down yet, but it seems to me this could be indicative of something.
Any thoughts?

Could you attach a picture...that might help. Is there any water intrusion? Also, provide the year of your boat as the MKI and MKII versions could be different.

Did you have a survey before buying your "new" boat and if so, did the surveyor comment?
