Bent Boom

Anyone have experience of trying to straighten a slightly bent boom ? It is bent at the mainsheet mounting point where the PO's crew overtightened the mainshhet. The deflection is about 1.1/4 inches over the length of the boom.

Plan "B" is a used boom ?????? 86 Hunter 31.

I purchased a 1987 Hunter 31 a few years ago that had a bent boom vang. I replaced it. However, many years ago I helped my dad straighten out a bent Catalina 24 mast (caused by salvaging the boat from one of the deepest areas of the Chesapeake Bay after he capsized it in a squall)by bending it back between 2 trees. It was not my boat and I would not recommend it for mine. That could risk boom failure.
