Beneteau through hulls

Working on a 12 year old Beneteau and no sea cocks,all the through hulls have ball valves, one had a T fitting with two ball valves.
All these look original from the factory, not after production.
Does Beneteau have their own type of through hulls purposely built with NPT thread vice NPS?

When I added a washdown pump to my 2006, I went to the Benny dealer for an OEM (whatever make) seacock. Yes, it is different. After considerable work, I determined one end was NPT, the other NPS. Go figure, but that's the way it worked out- nicely. Naysayers need not respond.

So its a standard through hull, but a OEM seacock that looks like a ball valve?

Rather than drill another hole, I utilized the thru hull for the A/C .. I just added a Tee and another valve.. worked out fine

At least on my First 36.7, the value portion meets ABYC H-27 specs. The only difference between that and the traditional definition of a 'seacock' is they use a flange mounted to the hull that the separate value assembly screws into. I got no problem with that at all, and in many way prefer it.

It you have a boat with tees, I assume that's an aftermarket setup for an AC or something else that needs water.

The practice of threaded through-hulls screwed up to tapered-thread ball valves seems to common to all the big production builders. And lots of yards still do them that way. This is in contravention to ABYC guidance, AND the install guidance from quality manufacturers like Groco. Yet groco makes and sells a hybrid-thread (staight-tapered) through hull that allows builders to continue the practice. Plenty of repair yards will tell you this is OK. What they will warn you about is the practice of hanging multiple valves off this flimsy installation. So stick with a single valve, and no pumps/filters/y-valves on a non-compliant through hull.
