I've got a 331 and seem to be depleting zincs every 2 months. There isn't room for a shaft zinc and the beneteau prop zincs seem very small and seemly disappear very fast. My prior boat was a First 285 and zincs (shaft) lasted 6-8 months months easily. Is this common?

zincs

I have a '94 Ben 40 that just eats zincs - I've just had to replace ALL the thru-hulls due to galvanic corrosion. There's no bonding system in Bens and the marina was very old and in need of remodeling, which was just completed. I'll have to keep an eye on things and track my zinc consumption. You probably have some stray current, possibly caused by poor wiring in the marina or on your boat. I'd advise having an expert look into it, or, if you know your way around a digital multimeter, there's plenty written about the subject.

Zinc-itis

My prop zinc will be checked by me this weekend by me playing the rubber man and taking a dive in the frosty BC water. My drop-over stern zinc disappeared after 6 months and I replaced it two weeks ago. It is grounded to the boats grounding system. The boat does have a grounding system. The prop zincs seem to fall off from vibration more than get eaten away. I have noticed the plastic-coated wire that drops over the stern is now getting eaten away. Ho humm.......
