Beneteau First 285 boom height

I am considering buying one of these boats but the height of the boom above the cockpit floor with the sail fully raised is a significant factor for me both in terms of headroom in general and the potential for installing a bimini.

I would much appreciate input from anyone with experience of this.

A friend had one made. specs.

Boom left in original position. Allows split backstay.

Boom never touches it.

I installed a bimini last year on Peningagja from a company called Ameriseam. I am happy with it. I'm 6'1" and haven't hit my head yet. After a little adjustment to the bimini, the boom travels all the way across without touching.
