Beneteau day & weekend saler

I am interested in buying a second hand Beneteau less than 27 feet for daysailing and maybe overnighting in the Aegean see islands close to Athens, Greece. Since my usual crew are me and my wife and we do not pay any attention to facilities as marine head, stoves, e.t.c., we seem to like the Beneteau 25 race boat. We would be grateful if anyone with expirience in this boat can consult us if it is sea going in conditions like 30+ mph wind speed and rough sea. (we currently sail with the club class 10 which is an outstanding Beneteau 33')

Take a look at a Beneteau First 235

The Beneteau 25 is a total race boat and probably is not the best bet for "Day Sailing". Take a look at the Beneteau First 235. I have some experience with this boat and it is a great "Day Sailor". These boats are usually avaiable for substanilly less than a 25 and would probably be a better choice. There is a lot of information on the net regarding 235's. Check them out, it may be just what you need. Good Luck. --Dan

Dan - please reply

Hi Dan, I saw your post in reply to the enquiry about a Beneteau 25. You suggested an F235. If you own and F235, would you please email me? I am part of a new F235 owners group and we're trying to create on-line resources for all owners. I'm creating a database of the whereabouts of all F235s worldwide, and if you have one, I'd like to get some info about yours - boat name, hull ID number, sailing area, etc. Thanks, Neil F235 #252 exchange ' AT 'for '@' in ... nquigley AT comcast.net

Sorry sold my F235

Hi Neal-- I have recently sold my F235 and am in the process of getting a larger boat. I live in SF and one of my goals is to sail in a race to Hawaii. I think very highly of the F235 but I just don't think I am enough of a sailor to take that boat to Hawaii. I know many people that wouldn't hesitate but for me somthing larger is in the immediate future. (Hopefully within the next month or so!) Good luck with your web site. --Dan

Oceanis 281

Although it is 1.5' longer than your 27 foot criteria, it is a wonderful boat. It does have some a ammenities that you aren't interested in like a head , stove, pressure water etc. but you don't have to use them. All lines are run to the cockpit and the boat is very easy to single hand.
