I'm thinking of adding to the 473 now that I've had some time to get used to it and hussle the dinghy etc around. I'm looking for some quality and good value solutions to going with an Arch. I'v only got a dodger (spray hood/bonnet) on right now, but am looking to add the full sun/rain cover and an arch to hold the dingy with an outboard on. So looking for a few suggestions on this topic. Specfically the two areas below: 1) Where are my best bets to purchase and get an Arch installed. Want it sturdy, will hold a bimini later, strong but not too heavy etc. 2) How do I balance, or lift the stern of the boat to keep it out of the water? As many of you 473 owners are aware of...it does not take much to put the stern tail into the water. I don't have a generator or anything really heavy on the back yet, and my rubber is mostly submerged with full tanks.

Beneteau arch

The standard Beneteau arch will take a dink and motor and solar panels and the bimini can be attached. It is also the most economical way to go. Mine cost about half of what other arch builders wanted. Unfortunately it will put your stern even lower into the water. This is a 473 problem. First time I saw one I noticed the bottom paint went 6 inches up the transom, not a good sign. Putting more weight in the bow is not a good solution.
