Beneteau 40 Float Switch in Head?

I recently purchased a 2007 Beneteau 40 and the float swith in the shower stall is not working. I was told this is a common problem and easy to repair? Is that true? Is the float-switch a "Beneteau provided" part or is it readily available? Is there a better option? Is the control under the head sink problematic? Thanks

Float switch is made by another company (not Bene), most common is Rule, Attwood also makes some. Check what you have and a direct replacement probably easiest. I haven't had to replace one in over a decade so not sure what the best available option may be. Not sure which control under the sink you refer to, the shower sump pump is usually switched someplace near sink.

Before replacing the switch make sure the pump circuit is energized, on the DC panel is a circuit breaker / switch which on French boats is labeled "Pompe L'Sumpe" or some such.

Well Paul after a little research I'm wrong, Beneteau seems to have used a rather complicated system manufactured by Scheiber. There is a Beneteau part number for the float switch, and there may be other aftermarket suppliers besides the one on the link I'll add. I'll also add the link for the "controller" under the sink in hopes some of this may be helpful.

Thanks Again, you savd me a lot of time and frankly money. I was quoted $150. to replace the relay switch alone....
