Beneteau 331 batteries

Sorry if this has been asked 1000 times!
Need new batteries. That are both 6 year old AGM now. Do I really need this expense or would it work as well with 1 AGM engine battery and one large or two smaller flooded deep cycle batteries for the House loads?

keep them all the same. Different types of batteries have differing charging agendas. My B323 has 3 group 31s.

Depends on how your charger is set up. Purchased the 2001 B361 a month ago and the original owner had mixed FLA with AGM as House 1 & House 2. Then a FLA for the engine start. Bad idea.
Best to keep similar types of batteries.

Did go with one 31 for the engine and two 24 for the house. All AGM.

Looking at your parallel wiring, does the positive and the negative go off the battery on the right in the picture (port side)?
If so, you may want to change that. The negative should be on one 'end' of the parallel setup and the positive should be on the other.
To minimize cable runs for your setup, leave the positive connections as is. Move the rightmost (port) negative lead coming off the bank to the left battery (starboard) negative post. The negative cable between the batteries stays the same.

This ensures better charging and discharging performance.

I went the Golf Cart Battery route - two GC2 AGM batteries in series. Works beautifully / fits well in battery space in front of engine on Beneteau 361. One 24 for my start battery.
