Anyone with a Beneteau 323 with either factory installed or aftermarket installed a/c? I am planning to install a/c on my 2005 323 per the layout diagram provided by Beneteau but I cannot see how it is possible to run 5" flex duct to the main cabin as shown in the print (along the hull behind the head liner). I would like to know it really can be done before I make a major investment in time and money. Some photos would be awesome.

Let's get some terminology clear. The headliner is in the deck molding, the hull molding holds the interior cabinetry/furnishings, including the saloon seating where A/C ducting is typically run. Ducting is flex duct so you can mash it to fit the space. Most installs run the duct behind the seat backs in a space that has limited usability. Good luck!

Should have said molded head compartment. Mashing flex duct to fit tight spaces likely will restrict air flow raising static pressure, bad things in any hvac system foe equipment performance, efficiency and longevity.

That's okay Toast, I know what you meant. To the main cabin from where?

My new 323 was delivered with factory air. I could write several paragraphs on the awful job Beneteau did on the installation but the one (and only) thing they did right was run the duct work. The AC unit is mounted up high in the front of the aft locker with a "t" duct on top, one flex duct runs to the very back of the aft cabin and the other runs over the holding tank through the head (under the sink) and exits under the chart table. Works great. Wish I had some picture and with the overtime I'm working, it maybe weeks before I could take any. If you are not in a hurry I can take a few the next time I can make it to the marnia.

Thanks Grady- your description conforms to the drawing Beneteau sent me. I just wanted some peace of mind that this installation is really possible before dropping $3500 on the non-returnable equipment. It looks like a tough job running the duct But if it was done on your boat it can be done on mine. Are you happy with the cooling performance in both the main and aft cabins? I had some concerns with short cycling due to the relatively close proximity of the supply and return grille in the small aft cabin.
