Hi - I have a small gap between the keel and hull (see pic though this is right after haul out before Lake Erie slime cleaned off). The keel bolts are in good shape - no rust. I replaced the nuts (some rust) and tightened them. I notice when boat is on the hard some streaks of water coming down the keel I assume are coming from bottom of the hull. Given Beneteau has the structure molding pan on the bottom it is hard to see exactly what is going on where the keel directly meets the hull. I can only see bolts coming out of the structural molding pan.
My question is whether I should just try to patch this (and with what?) recognizing that may not be the ultimate/best fix, or, is there a risk this will get worse and I need to have keel re-bedded. Given it is a 1993 I’m not excited about putting in a lot of investment but rather getting by with the minimum as long as it is not going to lead to bigger problems. BTW is this a common problem w/ Beneteau?
Thanks.
